Vince on ST: Discovery “I was stunned with how good this was” I mean— What?! Just— What?! Vince is obviously a man of very good tasted but there are times when his hyperbole just seems so unfounded and off base. I just can’t understand how someone could get to that kind of comment based on what was actually produced in this show. Enjoy it- sure not me but lots of ways to enjoy something. Find some cool things about it- alright. But stunned by how good it is?? No.

    Period. No.

    Empirically- No.

    Well acted?
If your idea of well acted is one take community theater like performances sure.
    Things to nit pick?

    Lens flares.
    Conflict over camaraderie- Non stop.
    Blowing up the ship- Again.
Full body holograms that follow you around the room
Non stop Klingon spoke – awful fonts for subtitles that force you to read 15 mins of dialogue rather than starting in Klingon and transitioning to english.
Throwing in a shit ton of ST beeeps and clicks doesn’t do enough to offer respect for even a floating continuity or ethos.

    The intro looks like CSI

If you want to make a sci fi show that chases Battle star- go ahead- but don’t impose your ‘original’ ideas on ST at the expense of the dna that makes it great.

Honestly actually give Enterprise a chance- It does a really admirable job of connecting the Klingon time line in a creative and believable cannon way. Adds a lot to their story. Check it out.
